Lemme tell you a (second) story

View from the eventual driveway

You can see the outside wall of the second story from the inside of the living room

There are already 3 doors on-site. Now we have the big living room window and the 2 sliding glass doors

View from the back. We're really glad that we added the few extra window that we did so far. Also, more of the back door roof is now in place.

Here is most, if not all, of the wood for the back deck. It has made it around to the correct side of the house at least.

Me and my boy sitting on the front stoop. On my left hand side is the fancy stair to get onto the front patio.

Here is the best view I could shoot of the second floor framing. I was dieing to climb up there and look around. But decided to err on the side of caution.

View from the right.

So we were super excited to see all of the progress on the second floor this week. Since the weather was supposed to be really bad we lucked out with decent weather and an almost entire second floor completed. It's really starting to look like a house.

And it's official (well, sort of)

We got home from the site today and what did we find in our mailbox.....................

Official Completion Document

So, you can call me a skeptic, but I surely have my doubts about move in happening anytime in August. Maybe just this once Wayne Homes will surprise me. Only time will tell...............

The First Floor Framed

So, we were pretty excited to arrive at the site and it's really starting to look like a house. We have lots of photos from this week.

looking into the laundry room. washer and drier will be on the right

Looking towards the fireplace in the living room

Looking into the kitchen. The pantry is in the back right corner.

Looking into the master bedroom from the doorway

Looking somewhat through the bathroom to what will be the walk-in closet

The view out of the sliding glass door at the dining area

Our one concern-- some visible holes in the insulating board. Steve from Wayne Homes assures us that this will get sealed up well before the insulation is all placed.

Looking towards the master bedroom. Thats the little bathroom window on this side.

View of the back. The big opening is a large window in the living room.

This is the view from the side looking at the living room (left) and garage (right)

The view from the road. It's amazing how much difference a week can make!!

Framing Has Begun!

So we finally have had some decent weather. The framing got started yesterday- May 17th. so far the entire outside walls of the basement have been placed as well as some of the floor joists. Very excited to see the progress. Of course Gavin only wanted to keep visiting the digger. Well, at least everyone was excited about something. Also it was pretty cool that Steve our construction manager showed up at the same time we were there, so we got to chat with him about some things.

So Hopefully this isn't how it came......
But Dad drove by the site and assures us that we have a steel beam in place!!
